Things to hope for in 2011

The end of the year and the start of another marks a time for reflection. What happened in 2010 that we would like to forget? What will stick around for awhile? My love for Rodarte grew
as the hype died down. Military jackets will give way for 70's glamour.
This spring, Lee Alexander McQueen will be remembered with a exhibit called Savage Beauty at the Met.
The following is a few other fashion predictions you may see in 2011:

Camel, beige and nude, which are basically the same colour will be as popular as ever.

According to NY Magazine, Circles are in!
Here's a example from Canadian designer Andy The Anh

Colourblock is always fun! With patterns big for spring, look for colourblock garments as a safe alternative to the trend.

This coral, orangey colour was everywhere on the runways, but everyone knows it's a slippery slope from looking glamorous in orange to looking like a pumpkin. At least this swimsuit has rusching!

Jumpsuits are here to stay (for now). Yet with the 70's trend all over the runways for Fall 2011, I can't see them going anywhere soon. Bold colours, strapless styles mixed with a layer or two can create a more sophisticated look.

Animal prints are one of those trends that aren't really trends. They are as classic as a little black dress or a string of pearls. I don't know if it was Edie Sedgwick's pillbox hat or the iconic leopard coat Kate Moss wore but it was relevant then and it's relevant now.
